Home Groups

Home groups are at the heart of our church vision. They are an important way to become an active member of the church, building relationships, discipleship, leadership opportunity and spiritual growth.

We have a number of home groups that meet around Johannesburg regularly.  For more information about a group that would suit you, please contact our Home Groups Co-ordinator Jo-anne Tatalias here.

The ‘Renew Africa’ Course

Over the next few years we as the St Martin’s community will be sharing in the Renew Africa course.  This is a 3-year process of growing in our faith through small groups which meet weekly. The course runs in 6-week “seasons” and there are two seasons each year – one in the Lent period and then again around September.  During this time our normal home groups will cease meeting in order to form Renew Groups.  We encourage every member of St Martin's to join a Renew group. During the Renew season our Sunday sermons will follow the relevant theme for that weeks’ course.

For more information on Renew, and to register your interest to join the next course, please contact the Renew Coordinator Jo-anne Tatalias here.

Sunday School

Sunday School is held in the Hall during the 9h30 Sunday Service, for all children ages 4 and upwards.  We also have a toddler group for those ages 2-4.  Children join the service until after the upfront worship and then move out to their groups.

For more on Sunday School contact Kirsten Smith here.

Kidzone

Kidzone runs during the 17h30 Get Real Service and the 18h00 Evensong services, and meets in the Parish Room. Children age 4-11 are welcome.  We enjoy a bible story, craft activities, sometimes even baking, and a lot of fun.

Youthspace

Youthspace is a dynamic meeting place for teens from the ages of 12 to 18. We meet upstairs from the Hall after the initial worship of the Get Real service.  We enjoy lively and challenging chats about what is really going on in our lives.  We love to see how God is relevant to the stuff we experience every day.  We laugh a lot, learn a lot and debate quite a bit too.

Men-with-a-Mission

We meet at 6h30 every Friday morning in the Parents room at the back of the church.  We spend an hour together, reading and discussing the book that we are working through, sharing our lives and praying.  We have seen the great benefit of Christian friendship and support as we live out our faith in this busy, exciting and demanding City.
