Difficult Issues in the Bible 4 - Suffering

How can a good God allow evil in this world? Answering this question is key for every person who ever lived or will live. Simply because everyone of us has either experienced evil acutely or seen happen from a distance. The question leaves us with a sort of conundrum - Is God good but unable to stop the evil, in which case He is not all-powerful, or is He able to prevent evil but won’t, which calls into question His goodness.

Please, make every effort to be with us as we face this dilemma head-on, in the hopes that we will develop a satisfactory answer that vindicates both His omnipotence and His goodness.

Difficult Issues in the Bible 3 - Patriarchy

As we seek to reach our culture with the Gospel effectively, we must aim to keep up with current conversation on, among other things, gender roles in our society. Much of the Bible was written in a patriarchal society where women were of less value than men. That can no longer be our worldview. So, one of the questions that presents itself to us is, “What is the timeless teaching of Scripture in this area?”

We look forward to having you with us on Sunday at our Get Real service for this critical conversation!

Difficult Issues in the Bible 2 - Sexuality

The Bible is an ancient text and our society has progressed a long way since it was compiled. So, how do we interpret the Bible’s teachings on sexuality so that we are both pure in God’s sight and relevant amidst our current culture? For this topic we hope to touch sexuality generally but also specifically, healthy expressions of sex, homosexuality, etc.

This will be an important message for our day and age, you won’t want to miss it! Come along to our Get Real service on Sunday evening to be challenged but also encouraged.

Alpha Celebration

If you joined us for Alpha this year, be sure to join us for our Alpha Celebration! The event is set up to cater primarily for those who have never been to Alpha before, which makes this a great opportunity to bring a friend. Check out some stories from those who have gone on Alpha before!

We’ll kick off with the topic, ‘Is there more to life than this?” to give a small taste of what Alpha is about. We then begin our second Alpha for the year on 12 September @ 18:30, looking at the question of, ‘Who is Jesus?’

A meal is provided free of charge! Any contributions or donations you might be able to make can be made on the night (we really appreciate these as they help to cover some of the cost of catering).

See you there!

Difficult Issues in the Bible 1 - Creation

With all the scientific and geological discoveries, how do we square what the Bible says with the data? Is the earth thousands or billions of years old? Can a Christian, in good conscience, believe in evolution? What are the implications for our theology as we find answers to these questions and others like them?

Join us at our Get Real service this Sunday evening as we tackle some of these questions!

Maundy Thursday

At the Last Supper, just before Jesus was crucified, He ate and drank with His disciples as well as showed them His love by serving them in a mind-boggling way! In remembrance of this, we will be having an Evening Eucharist as well as learning from the example of Jesus, washing the feet of our ‘neighbour’.

We will also be holding a prayer vigil from the evening of the 18th until midday of the 19th. Please, come pray with us, even if its for an hour. You are so welcome!
